Pancake breakfast set for Saturday

The Boonsboro Lions Club will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 64 Main St. in Boonsboro.

Donations will be accepted at the door.

The Lions Club also is accepting donations of used eyeglasses. 

All proceeds go to support the community.

Town brochure

The Boonsboro Economic Development Commission is in the process of creating a brochure for the town of Boonsboro to be distributed at visitors centers and various tourist information outlets, as well as throughout the community.

Local businesses interested in advertising should contact the commission at no later than April 10. 

The cost of a business card-size ad ranges from $75 to $100. Preference for ad space will be given to businesses within town limits, but there are 28 ad spaces. Those in surrounding areas are also encouraged to submit their requests.

Ham sandwich sale

Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Boonsboro will hold a ham sandwich sale, an indoor yard sale and raffle Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be baked goods, cookbooks and other items of interest available for sale. 

The church is at 33 Potomac St. in Boonsboro.

Library news

The Boonsboro Branch of Washington County Free Library has a lot going on. 

Today is movie night, starting  at 6 p.m.

On Friday, teens are invited to an egg hunt and craft event beginning at 5 p.m.

 On Saturday, the library will host its annual Eggstravaganza at 11 a.m., followed by story time and a movie.

The Young Readers Book Club will meet Monday, March 18, at 5 p.m. to discuss the book “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio.

On Tuesday, March 19, the Afternoon Book Club meets at 3 p.m. This month’s selection is “Have a Little Faith: A True Story of a Last Request” by Mitch Albom.

Banquet room available

The banquet room at Boonsboro’s Clopper Michael Post 10 American Legion is not just for bingo.

The room is available for a variety of functions.

There is ample parking with easy access to the main entrance, and there are several menu and budget options. Proceeds from use of the room and catering benefit veterans programs.
