1.  'It's a hard-knock life'

2. An evening of silly fun and laughs

Clear Spring Lions Club will present its 62nd annual minstrel and variety show this weekend at Clear Spring High School's auditorium, 12630 Broadfording Road, Clear Spring. The family show will include comedy, soloists, duets and 40-plus chorus and skits. Tri-State Band will provide pre-show entertainment one hour prior to each show. 6:30 p.m. pre-show; 7:30 p.m. show Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16; 1 p.m. pre-show; 2 p.m. show Sunday, March 17. $6; $4, students; free for preschoolers. 3.  Barn history

Doug Reed, owner of Preservation Associates, will present "From Whence We Came: Did German-Swiss Bauernhofs (barns) Come to the Americas," at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Allison-Antrim Museum's German bank barn, 365 S. 4. A tisket, a tasket

Children's Easter celebration will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 16, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 220 W. Burke St., Martinsburg, W.Va. Facepainting, storytime, games and prizes, egg hunt, crafts and refreshments. Children ages 3 years to fifth grade are invited to bring their Easter baskets. Call 304-267-4542.



5. Washington bathed here

George Washington's Bathtub Weekend will be this Friday, March 15, through Sunday, March 17, in various locations in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. A highlight of the weekend is the season of opening of the Museum of the Berkeley Springs with the traditional reading from George Washington's papers at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16.
