Gerald “Daddy Lee” Myers, 90, of Hagerstown, Md., went home with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro, Md.

Born June 21, 1922, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Frances G. (Miller) and J. Fred Myers.

He was a 1940 graduate of Hagerstown High School and proceeded to serve in the U.S. Army as a Tech-4 during World War II, where he participated in the Battle of the Bulge.

Gerald was a lifetime member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211, former president of Goodwill Athletic Association, former member of Washington County AMVETS Post 10 and a past member of Church of the Holy Trinity in Hagerstown.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cora V. Myers; a daughter, Mary Frances Myers and husband, Ronald, of Greencastle, Pa.; adopted son, Michael Lichtenberg Jr. and wife, Kelli, of Hagerstown; two stepdaughters, Geneva Kline of Hagerstown and Michaell DeLawter of Cumberland, Md.; a sister, Doris Ellis of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, David, Eric and Douglas Myers; a stepgranddaughter, Judy McIntyre; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Myers; two sisters, Jane Starr and Phyllis Frye; and one grandson, Jeff Myers.

Graveside services will be Monday, March 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Brad Reeves officiating. Military honors by the Maryland State Honor Guard will follow.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
