HAGERSTOWN — Barry Brown was looking for ammunition.

The Hagerstown Community College men’s basketball coach wasn’t looking for an elephant gun to take down his Hawks. He just wanted to fire a couple of warning shots.

HCC had been cruising along, winning 22 of its first 24 games, until facing Baltimore City in the final home game of the regular season with the Maryland JuCo Conference title on the line. The Hawks tripped over it.

The Panthers claimed an 81-79 overtime victory over HCC. The Hawks played selfish, incohesive basketball.
