Breast cancer survivors can get pictures

March 06, 2013

Breast cancer survivors, their friends and family embraced, posed and smiled for the camera during a complimentary portrait session by Kelly Hahn Johnson of Kelly Hahn Photography during the Celebration of Life survivors’ party hosted by Breast Cancer Awareness-Cumberland Valley for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October the last two years.

Survivors were invited to pose with their family and friends, and each received a print as a keepsake. Proceeds of nearly $1,000 from the sale of additional prints for both 2011 and 2012 also were donated to BCA-CV.

Johnson will create images for more women touched by breast cancer through the “Picture It in the Pink” project, celebrating the relationship of breast cancer survivors and their children and grandchildren.

The first session for the project will be Saturday, March 30, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the offices of Breast Cancer Awareness-Cumberland Valley in Hagerstown. Participants will receive a free relationship portrait session and a 5-inch-by-7-inch print.
