WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Despite the recent winter snow, spring is right around the corner and that means it’s time for the 30th annual Franklin County Builders Show.

“The builders show is a rite of spring. When the builders show is here, you know spring is not far behind,” said Tom Hanks, president of the Franklin County (Pa.) Builders Association.

The builders show starts Friday at the Waynesboro Mall off Pa. 16.

There’s plenty of free parking, Hanks said.

With 147 vendors on tap, there’s something to pique everyone’s interest at this year’s show, he said.

Between 10,000 and 15,000 visitors will flock to the three-day show featuring everything from landscaping to home builders, from hot tubs to home mortgages and from appliances to garden tractors.

“We have the best variety of vendors that we’ve ever had. We have a tremendous variety. You name it — it’s here,” Hanks said.

Even if you’re not in the market for home repairs, the show is worth a look, he said.

Whether you’re in the mood to socialize with old friends or sample some good food, Hanks said the builders show is the place to be this weekend.

“We have our own kitchen and everything is homemade,” Hanks said.

Homemade pies, soup and pulled pork sandwiches are just some of the items on the menu at the builders show.

“You can get your belly full and your mind full at the same time,” Hanks said.
