Charles Wesley Morgan, 94, of Frederick, Md., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born June 30, 1918, in Wolfsville, Md., he was the son of the late Jasper W. and Mae Routzahn Grossnickle Morgan.

He was the husband of the late Emmamae Brandenburg Morgan, who preceded him in death on July 13, 2005.

Charles was a 1935 graduate of Middletown High School and a 1940 graduate of Frostburg State University. For 30 years, he was a primary teacher in Maryland.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. His greatest accomplishment was during 1959 and 1960, when he wrote and published his first book, “This Dynamic World.”

Surviving Charles are four children, Ann Morgan Turcotte of Middletown, Lee Morgan of Shrewsbury, Pa., Joan Morgan Boxell and husband, John, of Middletown, and Bruce Morgan of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren, Ryan, Alexa, Christina, Amy, Jessica and Lyndsey; three great-grandchildren, Hayley, Maxumis and Austin; one brother, James Donald Morgan of Hagerstown; and one sister-in-law, Garnetta Stottlemyer Morgan of Frederick.

Also preceding Charles in death were his sister, Lenore Humberson; and brother, Paul Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville, Md., with the Rev. Stacey Brady officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, March 9, one hour prior to the service.
