Auction to benefit Pa. riding center

March 02, 2013

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — “Save A Horse, Hire A Cowboy,” the live and silent auction benefiting the Franklin County 4-H Therapeutic Riding Center, will be held Sunday March, 24, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Orchards Restaurant in Chambersburg.

The auction will include merchandise and service vouchers donated by local businesses and community members, as well as 10 local cowboys to bid on.

Officials said funds generated from the event are important to further the center’s goal of helping people with special needs receive therapy, relax and build confidence through horsemanship.

The fundraiser will feature bluegrass music by Tuckahoe Ridge, Roy Pitz beer and light food from the Orchards Restaurant, 1580 Orchard Drive in Chambersburg.

Tickets are for sale at the Roy Pitz Brewery or by calling 717-496-1307. Tickets cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door, and include participation in both auctions, music and food.

For more information, call Stephanie J. Corum, riding center program director, at 717-263-0443, send an email to info@horseridingtherapy.org, or go to www.horseridingtherapy.org or www.extension.psu.edu.
