Marilyn Diane Blank went to be with her Lord and Savior early Friday morning, March 1, 2013, on the same day that He delivered her to this earth 53 years ago March 1, 1960, while surrounded by her family. She was greeted by her son, Joshua Rex Blank, who passed before her in 2006.

Born in Frederick, Md., she was raised by her father, Hartzel Hawkins of Richmond, Va., her late mother and stepfather, Emma and Robert McHugh, and her late grandparents, Alice and Walter Baker.

She was a 1977 graduate of Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick.

Marilyn grew up with her brother, Mike McHugh, and her two sisters, the late Karen Green and Kim Spangler. She was a faithful and loving wife to Rex Blank for 22 years. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and is survived by her son, James Robert Remsburg III and wife, Melissa, and their daughter, Madalyn; her son, Jason Ryan Remsburg and his children, Dakota, Ashton, Kylie and Kaiden; her daughter, Brittney Dawn Blank and her daughter, Allana; her daughter, Cassy Marie Blank; and her son, Raymond Joseph Blank.

She worked at Way Station Inc. in Frederick and later became the owner and operator for 17 years of her own child day care in Boonsboro, Bundle's of Joy. She was also a foster care parent through the Washington County Department of Social Services. One of Marilyn's dreams was to be known as a child advocate; always trying to make a difference in the world ~ one child at a time.

Marilyn was proud of her relationship with the Lord. She wrote a book that was published in 2010 by PublishAmerica, "Have Faith: Live It, Speak It, Believe It & Survive." She leaves behind her very loving and supportive church family at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Marilyn wished to extend her personal appreciation to Joyce and Duke Snyder, Suzi Kerr, Linda McDaniels, Penny Sellers, Grandma Dot (and the gang), and her sidekick and angel, Kim Hildebrand.

A celebration of Marilyn's life journey will be Monday, March 4, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 3346 Gapland Road, Rohrersville, Md. The Rev. Clayton A. Clark and the Rev. Wendell G. McClellan will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in Marilyn's loving memory.

Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at www.baststaufferfuneralhome.com.
