Hancock boys bow out in first round

CUMBERLAND, Md. — Jarrett Wolfe scored a game-high 33 points to lead Fort Hill past Hancock in the Maryland 1A West Region West section quarterfinals.

Chad Sipe had nine points and nine rebounds for the Panthers (8-13), who trailed 19-7 after the first quarter.

Martinsburg 76, Musselman 43

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Martinsburg’s defense smothered Musselman and limited the Applemen’s scoring chances as the Bulldogs pulled away for an easy win in the West Virginia Class AAA Region II, Section 1 semifinals.

Jalen Lewis, Denzel Cole and Jordan Robinson combined for 13 steals in a game where Martinsburg (21-2) led 19-8 after one quarter and 32-13 at the half.

Martinsburg was led by Donte Grantham with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Jalen Lewis added 17 points. Lewis had four steals and four assists, while Cole added five steals and five assists.

Trevon Wesco led Musselman (15-9) with 10 points.

Martinsburg hosts Washington in the section final on Friday at 7. Washington defeated Hedgesville 58-54 on Wednesday to move into the final.
