Mrs. Carol (Wagaman) Zody, 60, of 4560 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro, Pa., died at 4:10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in her home, following a courageous five-year battle with cancer. 

Born July 5, 1952, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Elvin and Margaret (Peiffer) Wagaman of Waynesboro. She lived most of her life in the Waynesboro area. 

Mrs. Zody was a member of the Waynesboro Area Senior High School class of 1970. 

She and her husband of over 16 years, Donald Zody, were married Dec. 12, 1996 in Winchester, Va. 

Mrs. Zody worked for Teledyne Landis Machine Co., and the Elks Club, both of Waynesboro. While living in Orange, Calif., she worked at P&D Technologies as a corporate purchasing agent. Following her return to Waynesboro, she worked at Gsell Vending, and was currently a customer care specialist at Citi Bank in Hagerstown. 

She spent most of her adult life active in Republican campaigns, and was for a time a Republican committee person. She was also a board member for Zullinger Community Center. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by one daughter, Andrea Flook of Greencastle, Pa.; two grandchildren, Hannah Flook and Jordan Flook; three stepchildren, Douglas Zody, Jeffrey Zody, and Kristin Zody-Shoop, all of Waynesboro; numerous step-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Kinley of Waynesboro; two brothers, Joel Wagaman of Waynesboro and Brian Wagaman of Highspire, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Stipe; and one nephew, Curtis Wagaman. 

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Robert Fitz officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
