James D. “Jim” Coyle III, 65, of Pennersville Road, Cascade, Md., passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Aug. 29, 1947, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late James D. “Bob” Coyle Jr. and Dora Jane (Cooper) Coyle.

He was a graduate of Smithsburg High School, Class of 1965.

He was a self-employed auto mechanic for Coyle’s 66 Filling Station and Coyle’s Garage.

He was a member of ACACIA Lodge 155 AF & AM of Thurmont, Md., SAL American Legion Post 239 of Cascade and Blue Ridge Sportsmen’s Association.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda L. (Flaugher) Coyle, whom he married July 22, 1967; son, James D. “Jamie” Coyle IV of Cascade; Poppy’s granddaughter, Melanie “Meross” R. Coyle of Cascade; sisters, Judy Portner of Blue Ridge Summit, Bonnie Miller and husband, Jim, of Sabillasville and Rose Poole and husband, Charlie, of Blue Ridge Summit; brothers Charles “Eddie” Coyle and wife, Susanne, William “Bill” Coyle and wife, Bev, George Coyle and wife, Teresa, and Jeff Coyle and wife, Kerry, all of Cascade; mother-in-law, Irene Flaugher of Sabillasville; and nieces and nephews.

At Jim’s request, there will be no viewing or visitation.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Brown’s Cemetery, Foxville, Md., with Pastor Janet Comings officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 17015 Sabillasville Road, Sabillasville, MD 21780.
