Mrs. Pearl Maybelle Huffer, 94, of Middletown, Md., died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.

She was the wife of Fred M. Huffer, who died Feb. 1, 1992.

Born in Frostown, Md., on May 19, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Lafayette and Susan Kephart Main. 

She was employed in the Middletown cafeteria, and later at American Optical in Frederick, Md., until her retirement. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for more than 50 years, and was an avid quilter.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Wyand and husband, David, Keedysville; one son, Glenn Huffer and wife, Carol, Vernon, Conn.; nine grandchildren, Ken Huffer and wife, Jane, Kathie Schultz and husband, Peter, Cheryl Ackerman, Debbie Bachtell and fiancé, Loye, Jeannie Angleberger and husband, Pete, David Wyand Jr. and wife, Phyllis, Andy Wyand and wife, Christine, Jeffrey Huffer and wife, Holly, and Johanna Sisson and husband, Sean; 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild due April 1; 14 great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Poffenberger of Rohrersville; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by faithful companion, her cat, Molly.

She was predeceased by a son, Elwood Huffer; two grandchildren, Bryan Huffer and Timothy Wyand; two brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main St., Middletown. Friends may call at the church from noon until time of the funeral service Monday. The Rev. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman and the Rev. Cris Frigm will officiate. Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
