Police said they were called on the afternoon of Feb. 13 to respond to an unspecified complaint at the Castle Green Motel on East Baltimore Street. When officers arrived, they determined Hovis was wanted by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Probation and Parole, police said.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Hovis had failed to update his registration as a sex offender after he moved from his former home in York, Pa., according to the release.
