Mary E. Mash, 65, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Mary was a 1965 graduate of Boonsboro High School, and retired from the Best Western and Venice Inn and Motel after 35 years of service.

She is survived by a brother, J.W. Fisher; sisters-in-law, Catherine McCoy (also a devoted caregiver), Mary Cameron, Phyllis Mash and Catherine Fisher; brothers-in-law, Harry Mash and John C. Strain; nieces, Debra Rockingham, Carol Ann Gregg, Amanda Miner, Desiree Mash Davis and Denise Terry; nephews, John Strain Jr., Jeremy Strain and James C. Fisher; a special cousin, Charlotte L. Saunders; and numerous other cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was the daughter of the late James H. and Edna Lynn (nee Mumford) Fisher; wife of the late Charles Mash Jr.; sister of the late infant brother Jess; sister of the late Alberta Strain-Glover and her late husband, George; and great-aunt of the late Katlin Harvey.

She was the youngest granddaughter of the late Guy and Mary E. (Harper) Fisher, for whom she was named.

The family wishes to thank Western Maryland Hospital Center and the many friends she has made there for the kindness and love shown to her.

Friends may call at Harman, Kenworthy & Minnich Funeral Home P.A., 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, from 9 to 10 a.m., at which time the funeral service will be held. The Rev. Orpha Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery immediately following.

For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will be open Friday from 2 to 8 p.m.

If desired, donations may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association or to the cancer society of your choice.
