Morgan (W.Va.) and Washington County officials investigating daytime burglaries

A warrant has been issued for a Hagerstown man who is being held on unrelated charges

Jewelry, coins, cash, electronics and guns have been stolen in a series of daytime burglaries that have occurred since December, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the burglaries with the Morgan County, W.Va., Sheriff’s Department.

Morgan County officials have obtained a warrant for a Hagerstown man in connection with a burglary that occurred in Morgan County on Jan. 18, according to a news release.

The man is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center on unrelated charges, the release said.

The sheriff’s office is also trying to determine the owner of several items that were believed to have been stolen in or near Frederick County before Jan. 10.

The items include a French horn, a keyboard piano, antique lunch box and an electric guitar.
