Troy Thomas “Tarzan” Moser, 38, of Boonsboro, Md., passed suddenly from this life on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.

Born on July 5, 1974, in Hagerstown, Md., he is the son of Sandra L. (Aleshire) Stottlemyer and her husband Ray Stottlemyer of Boonsboro. He is also survived by Allan Kim Routzahn, always know by Troy as “Dad.”

Troy was an employee at Olde Town Masonry in Rohrersville, Md., and Nature Boys Landscape and Construction Company in Boonsboro.

Troy was a giving and loving individual who will be deeply missed. He had a big heart and he would give you the shirt off of his back. He was known for his motto “I am who I am,” and had a good time living in the moment. He was the founder and member of the “Free Spirit Club” and was a high plains drifter.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by his special little daughter, Kaylee Marie Louise Moser of Waynesboro, Pa.; two sisters, Kimberly S. (Routzahn) Hannan and Anna Louise Routzahn, both of Frederick, Md.; two stepbrothers, Kevin W. Stottlemyer of Boonsboro and Joe R. Stottlemyer of Tennessee; his paternal stepgrandfather, Harry E. Routzahn of Frederick; one aunt, Jackie D. Finn and husband, Tom, of Hagerstown; six uncles, Benny Shenk and wife, Jean, of Luray, Va., Buddy Shenk of Hagerstown, Jerry Aleshire and wife, Gail, of Mercersburg, Pa., Greg Aleshire and wife, Carolyn, of Clear Spring, Md., Steve Aleshire and wife, Cheryl, of Hagerstown, and Terry Aleshire and wife, Debbie, of Clear Spring. He is also survived by his very, very special nephew, Lucas G. Hannan of Frederick, and his self pronounced “old lady” and very important friend, Marsha Pierle, and numerous cousins.

Troy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James C. and Hazel L. Aleshire, and his paternal stepgrandmother, Margaret Sue Routzahn.

A celebration of Troy’s life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Pastor Bob Driver-Bishop will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Beaver Creek Cemetery near Hagerstown.

Friends are invited to visit beginning at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the funeral home, where the family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to a trust fund established for his daughter, Kaylee. Contributions should be made payable to Kaylee Moser and mailed to BB&T Bank, 192 Thomas Johnson Drive, Frederick, MD 21702.
