Mr. William H. "Bill" Pittman, 94, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at 2:45 p.m. at Golden Living Center in Hagerstown.

Born June 24, 1918, in Neosho, Mo., he was the son of the late Frank F. and LuLu Bell (Chambers) Pittman.

He married Elsie (Snurr) Pittman on July 21, 1956, in Jacksonville, Fla.

Mr. Pittman worked as a supervisor at several aircraft manufacturers, including North American Aircraft in Kansas City and California, Lear Jet Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., and Fairchild Aircraft in St. Augustine, Fla., and Hagerstown before retiring in 1983.

He was a member of St. Paul's Free Lutheran Church in Leitersburg, Md., and was an avid bird watcher.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert Pittman of Greencastle, Pa.; and a daughter, Connie Smith of Neosho.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William H. Pittman Jr., who passed away in 1980; and two sisters.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
