WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Driver charged with DUI accused of hitting headstones

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A Hagerstown man is facing charges after allegedly striking headstones at Green Hill Cemetery with his vehicle.

Russell Dodgion, of 12917 Little Hayden Circle, was charged by Waynesboro police with driving under the influence. The vehicle he was driving became disabled due to hitting multiple headstones, Waynesboro police said in a news release.

Police said they were called to the cemetery off South Potomac Street at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29.



Man attempts to lure girl into car

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A man claiming to be a school district employee tried to lure a girl into a car Friday evening, Waynesboro police said in a news release.

Police said a girl was walking to school on West Sixth Street when the man approached in a small, tan car. The man asked if she needed a ride to school.

“The female declined, and the male tried to entice her into the vehicle by stating he worked for the school district and it would be OK,” police said in the news release.

The man left the area when she declined a second time, police said. The man was described as white and bald and having a round face, police said.

Police said they were notified of the incident at 6:07 p.m.

Police did not say to what school the girl was walking. Police also did not release the girl’s age.

Golf cart reportedly hits gas pump

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Waynesboro police said they were called to a business on South Potomac Street at 7:36 a.m. Sunday for a report of a golf cart running into a gas pump.

Although the gas pump had moderate damage, there were no injuries, police said.
Police did not release the name of the business.



Teen cited after fight at Waynesboro Area Senior High School

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Waynesboro police were called to a fight at Waynesboro Area Senior High School at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday, police said in a news release.

A 15-year-old boy is being cited for harassment after allegedly punching another boy in the head, police said.

Chimney fire reported

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Franklin County (Pa.) Emergency Services reported following incident Wednesday:

At 4:55 a.m., a chimney fire was reported in the 4900 block of Shady Lane in Quincy Township.
