Florence Hill Graff of 13308 Briarcliff Drive, Hagerstown, died Feb. 3, 2013, at her home. 

Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Rowland Travis Hill and Grace Winifred Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Henry F. Graff, and her brother, R. Travis Hill. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.

She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal church, The Singer Society of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, Washington County Medical Society Alliance, WOMEN AT THE TABLE, The Women’s Giving Circle of the Community Foundation of Washington County and Fountain Head Country Club. She was a board member and volunteer at the Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home and Village. She had been a board member and was a member of the Volunteer Association of the San Mar Children’s Home for more than 50 years, for which she was granted in 1993, a State Award from the Maryland Association of Residential Facilities for Youth. As a member of the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary, she helped to make for 30 years, the “Pinkie Puppets” for children patients. She was a former member and president of the Hagerstown Garden Club.

In 2002, she was the recipient of the WOMEN AT THE TABLE “Life of Leadership Aware.”

In 2003 she received “The People’s Choice Award” from The Community Foundation of Washington County.

A service in celebration of her life will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 101 S. Prospect St., Hagerstown, on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at noon.  The Rev. Ann Boyd, Rector, and the Rev. D. Stuart Dunnan, Headmaster - St. James School, officiating. Interment will be in Fort Lincoln Cemetery on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Garden Club or to the charity of one’s choice.
