Warren Fred Ottinger, 90, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the Autumn Assisted Living Center.

Born Wednesday, March 8, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late George Ottinger and the late Clara (Hess) Ottinger. He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Jane Ottinger in 1999.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during World War II, where he was a captain and flew B-25s in the European Theater. Warren was employed with the FAA first as a Air Traffic Controller and later in Research and Development. He retired in 1980.

He is survived by his three sons, Kurt H. Ottinger and wife, Joyce, of Sarasota, Fla., Lee P. Ottinger and wife, Jane, of Sparks, Md., and Donald Ottinger and wife, Belinda, of Goldsboro, N.C.; two granddaughters, Kelly Ottinger and Emily Wombacher; and three grandsons , Matthew Ottinger, John Ottinger and Aaron Ottinger.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Ottinger.

Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Richard A. Daughtridge officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
