Wallace Junior Giffin, 68, of Fairplay, Md., passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, Md.

Born Dec. 1, 1944, in Sharpsburg, Md., he was the son of the late Wallace Nelson Giffin and Ethel Virginia Churchey Semler.

He was employed by Steamfitters & Plumbers Local 486 Baltimore, Md., until retiring in 1994. He was employed with T.A. Gorman, where he was a superintendent in Baltimore. Prior to the union employment he worked for Fridinger Ritchie in Hagerstown.

He was a member of Burnside First Church of God, Sharpsburg.

He was a member of IORM Tribe 84, Williamsport, Md., and Loyal Order of Moose.

Survivors include his wife, Deatta Mae Kretzer Giffin, whom he married Nov. 1, 1963, of Fairplay; daughter, Teresa A. Crawford and her husband, Donald, of Downsville, Md., daughter, Laurie A. Wilhide of Boonsboro, Md.; son, Keith D. “Bo” Giffin and his wife, Tonja, of Fairplay; son, Darrin J. Giffin and his wife, Melissa, of Fairplay; sister, Wilma R. Kretzer of Sharpsburg; brother, Gary N.C. Giffin of Woodsboro, Md.; brother, Seibert M. Giffin of Williamsport; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Roger S. Giffin and James W. Giffin; and one granddaughter, Stacey N. Wilhide.

The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Burnside First Church of God, Sharpsburg, on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
