Chambersburg man charged in connection with burglary

SCOTLAND, Pa. — A Fayetteville, Pa., resident had his wife and two children lock themselves in an upstairs bedroom during a burglary Monday morning at 148 W. Main St., according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The resident who police did not name armed himself with a gun during the robbery, which occurred about 3 a.m., state police said.

Thomas David Strode, 41, of Chambersburg, Pa., later was charged with burglary, trespassing, reckless endangerment, harassment and disorderly conduct in connection with the burglary, state police said.

Strode was being held in the Franklin County Jail Monday afternoon on $25,000 bail, a jail spokesman said.

Strode was found behind Steely Meats about 200 yards from the scene, police said. Strode was yelling threats, was not wearing a shirt and had suffered from cuts which were consistent with evidence at the scene, police said.

McConnellsburg man charged with robbery

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. — A 24-year-old McConnellsburg man has been charged in a robbery Saturday at MacDonald’s Pharmacy at 105 S. Third St., according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Nathen Lee Skidmore has been charged with robbery, a state police spokesman said.

Skidmore was being held in the Franklin County Jail on Monday afternoon on $500,000 bond, a jail spokesman said.

The robbery occurred at 11:30 a.m. when a male entered the pharmacy handed what police described as a threatening note to a pharmacy employee demanding medication, state police said.

The man had a white mask over his face, police said.
