Mail Call - Feb. 1

January 31, 2013

“All you readers out there, now you know why (former  Mayor) Bruchey was pushing so hard for the stadium. Got him a good job, didn’t he? Bet the rest of us don’t get that kind of money.”
— Hagerstown

“Our great savior, the protector of the middle class, and the lifesaver of little children, Barack Hussein Obama, passed 20-some things saying that he’s going to stop gun control with these 20-some things that he passed, but never mentions about Hollywood violence, because he’s in bed with Hollywood. He never mentions anything about the gaming systems, because he’s in bed with the gaming systems, and he never said anything about mental health. Three main things that’s probably the source of people getting these mass suicides.”
— Greencastle, Pa.

“I ride past the courthouse every day, the District Court, and here on that side of the road, you see a nice courthouse. Across the street is quite an eyesore. Are they going to ever rip them down or give them a facelift? Please say they are, because that looks nasty.”
— Hagerstown

“Just when you think you’ve seen or heard it all, then you are amazed to see and hear what you know is all. I read in the paper where the Hagerstown Humane Society was having a sale on white animals only, white dogs. Can you imagine the poor little black or brown dogs there that probably somebody would love to adopt, but because they get more of a discount, they would take in the white dogs. We’re not supposed to discriminate against American people. I guess we can discriminate against dogs. Poor little doggies.”
— Smithsburg

“So once again, the Republicans, on Inauguration Day, say they plan to block President Obama’s agenda. They lost the election. The majority of the people voted for Obama. So let’s stop this bickering and get moving on with the business of our country.”
— Hagerstown

“I’d like to respond to a Hagerstown person. This about the donations for speed cameras in Hancock. This person said they see where donating, Hancock’s donating money to Children’s Village, which is a good thing, and want to know what Hagerstown is doing with theirs. Hagerstown’s hiring more cops, more speed ... so they can buy more property downtown or give themselves a big raise, that’s what they’re doing with their money. They don’t know how to save for better things, but they’re buying more cops.”
— Hagerstown
