Washington County man acquitted of sexual abuse charges

January 31, 2013

A former Washington County man accused of sexually abusing a child was acquitted Tuesday in Washington County Circuit Court.

Jeffrey B. Mallery, 39, of Brunswick, Md., had been charged with sex abuse of a minor and sex abuse of a minor as a continuing course of conduct, court records said. He was found not guilty by Judge Daniel P. Dwyer following a two-day bench trial.

Mallery and his family lived at a Rohrersville address in Washington County when some of the incidents of alleged abuse took place, court records said. The girl he was accused of molesting told investigators the incidents occurred in 2010-11, the charging document said.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office filed charges against Mallery in January 2012, court records said.
