Jacqueline Marie Burnett Harris "Ninine," 78, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Born Nov. 12, 1934, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William Allen Burnett Sr. and Elizabeth Marguerite Lewis Burnett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Harris, in May 2009.

She attended and graduated from North Street School, where she was an avid "basketball" player.

She was employed by Garlock Nursing Home as a nutritionist. She also worked for Fairchild Republic Industries for many years and finally worked for the Washington County Commission on Aging until her retirement.

She was a member of Greater Campher Temple King's Apostle Holiness Church, where she served on several boards in her earlier years.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna M. Harris of Hagerstown; four sons, David E. Harris and wife, Angela, of Chambersburg, Pa., and Robert Harris and wife, Betty, Gale Jerome Harris and wife, Dorothea, and William Steven Harris and wife, Mary, all of Hagerstown; one grandson, Cornell Keyes, whom she helped raise and nurtured; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her children, she is also survived by two sisters, Lola Mosby of Hagerstown and Alberta Freeman of Fort Washington, Md.; two brothers, Thomas Burnett Sr. and Austin Burnett Sr., both of Hagerstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Nathaniel Anthony Harris; three sisters, Edna Sims, Nettie V. Russ and Lela Greene; and six brothers, William Burnett Jr., Chester Burnett, Mortimer Burnett, Ernest Burnett, Clarence Burnett and John Burnett.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, 11 a.m. at Greater Campher Temple Church. Elder Tracey Brown will officiate. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Friday Feb. 1, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Bible Church.
