Raymond E. (Jay) Golden, 79, of Clear Spring, Md., died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at his home.

Born Jan. 25, 1934, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph Franklin and Iva Bell Drury Golden.

He was a 1953 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

He retired from CSX/Western Maryland Railroad.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen L. Galliher Golden; two sons, Steven J. Golden and wife, Lynette, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Brett T. Golden and wife, Janelle, of Clear Spring; one brother, Lee Golden of Greencastle, Pa.; two granddaughters, Amy Litten of Berkeley Springs and Wendy Clark of Chesapeake, Va.; five grandsons, D.J. Golden and Seth Golden, both of Berkeley Springs, Jeremy Golden of Hagerstown, and Zack Golden and Nate Golden, both of Clear Spring; three great-grandchildren, Landon Litten, Kara Litten and Natalie Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Golden and Hilda Cameron; and two brothers, Paul Golden and Irvin Golden.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Kent Kesecker will officiate.  Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Boonsboro, Md.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
