January 30, 2013

FUNKSTOWN — A Funkstown man was charged with driving while intoxicated by alcohol after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Funkstown, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

Stephen Angus, 58, of 20 W. Poplar St., also was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol, failing to yield right of way on a left-hand turn, driving without a license and driving on a revoked license, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Deputies said they were called at 5:47 p.m. for a report of a traffic accident with injuries at the intersection of North Westside Avenue and West Chestnut Street in Funkstown.

Deputies said a Lincoln Town Car driven by Angus was traveling south on Westside Avenue when the vehicle turned into the path of a Nissan Titan driven by James Grubb, 56, of Hagerstown.
