Buyer and grower expo set for Tuesday at ag center

The Maryland Department of Agriculture, in partnership with economic development agencies for Washington, Allegany, Garrett, and Frederick counties, will hold the Western Maryland Buyer and Grower Expo Tuesday, Feb, 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at  Washington County Agricultural Education Center, 7303 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro. 
 
The expo is geared toward connecting Western Maryland growers and producers interested in finding new markets with regional restaurants, hospitals, schools, growers, and other venues and service providers.
 
At the expo, buyers will find local fruits and vegetables, meats (such as beef, turkey, lamb, pork, goat), cheeses (cow and goat), and specialty products, including locally made ice cream, soups, flour, wine and other products.

Registration has been extended to Jan. 31. Registration costs $20 for producers only. There is no fee for buyers to attend.
