First Friday event

Trinity Lutheran Church, at 64 S. Main St. in Boonsboro, will hold its First Friday Fellowship event Friday from 5:30 and 7 p.m.

Attendees can get a hot bowl of soup and some warm conversation. 

The meal is free, and any donations will be given to Micah’s Backpack, a program which feeds children in South County.

Rug hooking

A rug hooking session will be held at the Boonsboro branch of Washington County Free Library Saturday, starting at 11:30 a.m. The public is invited.

Turn the Page Bookstore’s book club will meet Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 1 p.m. to discuss “Saving Graces” by Patricia Gaffney. The book club is open to all interested readers.

The BHS Class of 1977 works hard at staying in touch.

The class is planning a monthly alumni dinner at various locations around the area.

Free rules clinic

Maryland District 1 Little League will conduct a free rules clinic for umpires, managers and league officers on Tuesday nights starting Feb. 5 and running through March 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Church of Christ, 19644 Leitersburg Pike in Hagerstown.

New rules changes for baseball and softball about illegal bat penalties, pitch count changes and new softball bat regulations will be covered as well as the basic rules of the game.
