Film submissions sought for HCC film festival

Community College will hold its first film festival featuring original work by local, amateur filmmakers on Friday, March 8, and Saturday, March 9.

The festival, which is sponsored by Robinwood Players Theater Club, is seeking submissions in three divisions: high school; college and amateurs of any age.

High school students can be any age, but must be currently enrolled at a high school in Washington County; Franklin County, Pa.; Berkeley County, W.Va.; or Jefferson County, W.Va. College students must be currently attending a two- or four-year college in western Maryland, eastern West Virginia, or southern Pennsylvania. Amateur filmmakers should live and reside in the local, Tri-State area.

Work can be submitted by a team or by an individual. All film submissions must run 10 minutes or less. Film categories include:
• Favorite childhood fairytale/fable
• A day in the life of a historical figure
• Favorite excerpt from a science fiction/fantasy novel

All submissions must be accompanied by a short synopsis of 50 words or less. Film entry fee is $25 per team or individual.
