HVA to play for third in Texas tourney

KEENE, Texas — Highland View Academy will play for third place in the Southwestern Hoops Classic after splitting a pair of games Friday at Southwestern Adventist University.

The Tartans beat Greater Atlanta Academy 75-58 early Friday as Arthur Thomas recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 20 rebounds and 14 blocked shots.

Hunter Sorenson led all scorers with 24 points. He hit four of his six 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as Highland View outscored Greater Atlanta 31-15.

Justin Osoro had 13 points and Ray Fisher added six points and 10 assists.

The Tartans (15-5) lost to San Gabriel (Calif.) 66-49 later Friday. Osoro had 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Fisher added 13 points and Sorenson had 10. Thomas had 16 rebounds and 10 blocks.

The Tartans play Forest Lakes Academy (Fla.) in the third-place game Saturday at 9:35.

MASSILLON, Ohio — Donte Grantham had 17 points, eight rebounds and three blocks to lead Martinsburg past Massillon.

Adam Lewis led the Bulldogs (13-1) with 20 points, while Denzel Cole added seven points and 10 rebounds.
