Gerald Arthur Keller, 92, of Taylors Landing Road, Sharpsburg, Md., died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Williamsport Nursing Home in Williamsport, Md.

Born Oct. 11, 1920, in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late Arthur D. and Ellen Katherine Christ Keller.

He graduated in 1940 from St. Mary's High School.

Gerald served in the Army Air Corps, and served as a pilot trainer in World War II.

He retired as warden at Maryland Correctional Institute after 30 years of service.

He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He loved to golf and hunt, and loved his San Francisco 49ers football team.

He was a member of Improved Order of Red Men, Williamsport.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Jane Keller, who died June 25, 2010.

He is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Reid and husband, Earl, of Sharpsburg; grandson, Robert Reid; sisters, Phyllis E. Burgess, Jean M. Keller and Mary Helen Helmer, all of Hagerstown; four brothers, Lynn E. Keller of Walkersville, Md., David L. Keller of Skippack, Pa., and Carroll E. Keller and Michael J. Keller; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Rebecca Keller; and six brothers, Father Robert C. Keller, Kenneth Keller, Richard M. Keller, Phillip Thomas Keller, James V. Keller and Ronald Keller.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Msgr. Alfred E. Smith will be celebrant. Burial will be in Little Rose Hill Cemetery, Clear Spring, Md.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
