Mount Vernon Reformed United Church of Christ, Keedysville, will hold a dogs and cats blessing during all January services. Doors open at 10:15 a.m. and the service begins at 10:45 a.m. Pets should be on a leash or in a pet carrier and be under control. The church is pet friendly.

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Lappans, a six-week series about faith and life will begin Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., and continue Tuesdays through March 12. There will be a simple meal followed by a 20-minute DVD presentation, with small group sessions and a plenary session at the end of the evening. Registration is required. Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro, Pa., will present the second event in its Bearing Witness series with a presentation of “Freedom Fighter” the true story of Majed El Shafie. A light meal will be at 6 p.m. followed by the documentary at 6:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.
