Basket bingo fundraiser planned

There will be a basket bingo fundraiser at the Order of Red Men Tribe 84, at 16129 Lappans Road in Williamsport on Sunday, Feb. 17. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Tickets include a two-piece chicken dinner with two side dishes.

The event features 25 games, Longaberger baskets and cash games. There will be warm-up money games, tip jars, 50/50 raffles and other raffles.

Tickets cost $20 per person and 120 tickets will be sold. To obtain tickets, call Tina Dagenhart at 240-520-2981, Debbie Robison at 301-797-8138, or Vicky Yates at 301-465-9125.

Proceeds will support Coltan Dagenhart, student ambassador, who will travel to Costa Rica to serve and learn. Funds will also go to the State of Maryland Great Minnehaha fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease.

The event is open to the public. Ticket holders are asked to bring a canned food item for the Williamsport Food Bank to receive a free raffle ticket.

Clothes of Hope schedule for February

Clothes of Hope Ministries at Williamsport United Methodist Church, 25 E. Church St., provides gently used and some new clothing. It will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2; Monday, Feb. 11; and Thursday, Feb. 21. It will be open from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7; and Monday, Feb. 25.

There is no charge for clothing. Monetary donations accepted.

Deadline to register for town election is Feb. 19

Tuesday, Feb. 19, is an important date to remember for the upcoming election:

It is the deadline to file as a candidate for mayor, assistant mayor, or council member.

It is the deadline to request an absentee ballot.

It is the deadline to register to vote in the March 4 election.

Voter registration forms are available at Town Hall.
