William J. Connor Jr., 66, of Hagerstown, Md., died into God's care Jan. 18, 2013. 

Bill was born Oct. 26, 1946, in Easton, Md. He grew up in Centreville, Md., and worked at his father's business, Connor's Pharmacy.

He graduated from Centreville High School, then graduated from St. Bernard College in Cullman, Ala., with a bachelor of arts degree.

Bill moved to Hagerstown in 1970, and became an executive with the Boy Scouts of America for 14 years. In 1984. he went to work for Lowe's as assistant manager and head of the tools department for 25 years. 

Bill married Laurie Dudley in 1973. They were devoted to each other in marriage for 37 years. They were members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She preceded him in death.

Bill served our country in the reserves for 12 years. He was a volunteer fireman for 10 years.

Bill was an avid sports enthusiast, with the Baltimore Colts, Orioles and Ravens among his favorite teams. Bill enjoyed a model railroad collection as a hobby for many years.

Bill is survived by his mother, Irma H. Connor of Easton; a brother, Joseph M. Connor Sr. and his wife, Bonnie, of Centreville, a sister, Jacquelyn C. Steuerman and her husband, Kenneth Steuerman, of Timonium, Md.; and nine nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Jeraldine A. Connor, who passed away in 2008.  

A memorial Mass will be Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Centreville.
