New cars at mall

Starting Wednesday, Jan. 23, Valley Mall will showcase the new 2013 vehicles. The mall-wide display of new cars, truck and SUVs will be on display through Monday, Feb. 4. 

Spring soccer registration

Hagerstown Area Youth Soccer League, or HAYSL, will hold registration for the spring soccer season Saturday, Jan. 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Food Court area at Valley Mall.

In addition to HAYSL’s core U5, U6, U8 boys and girls, U12 coed, U12 girls, U14 coed, U14 girls, U16 coed, U16 girls and U19 coed, the league will offer U10 boys and girls extended play, U12 girls and boys extended play, U14 boys and girls extended play and U19 girls programs.

New players must bring a copy of their birth certificate to register.

Area softball league to hold registration

The Washington County Girls Softball League will host registration for the 2013 season for girls in grades three through eight. Registration will be held at Dick’s Sporting Goods, at 17780 Garland Groh Blvd., on Saturdays, Feb. 2, 9, 16, and 23, from noon to 5 p.m.

WHS to host alumni basketball games

Williamsport High School will host an alumni men’s basketball doubleheader on the evening of Saturday, March 9. Former senior varsity letter winners are invited to play.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Geraldine Andrews Medical Fund.

Reminder to parents

Parents of Washington County Public Schools students, note the following on your calendars: Schools will close 2 1/2 hours early on Friday. Schools will be closed Monday in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and Tuesday for a professional learning day. Classes will resume Wednesday.
