McCrary dominates as North defeats TJ

BOYS BASKETBALL

FREDERICK, Md. — Kenny McCrary delivered his biggest game of the season, leading North Hagerstown to a 57-52 vicotry over Thomas Johnson on Tuesday.                  

McCrary scored a season-high 15 points, grabbed 22 rebounds and blocked seven shots.

Guard Max Ober also had a personal best for the season, leading the Hubs (8-4) with 21 points. Andrew Yacyk had nine rebounds and Isaiah Keyes added six assists and six steals.

The difference in the game came in the third quarter, when North outscored the Patriots (7-6) 16-8.

CLEAR SPRING — Michael Riley had 18 points, including two 3-pointers, for Clear Spring in a win over Manchester Valley (0-12).

Jake Brant had 10 points and Collin Schultz added nine points, 12 rebounds and three assists for the Blazers (5-4), who made all 10 of their free throws in the fourth quarter to ice the game.

ELDERSBURG, Md. — Williamsport made just 2 of 11 free throws in the game, and missed the potential game-winning layup with four seconds left in a loss to Liberty.

Ryan Crabtree and Sterling Christy led the Wildcats (5-7) with nine points each.

Shane Sweeney had 12 points and Chad Barcikowski added 10 for the Lions (7-6).

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Donte Grantham had 26 points and eight rebounds to lead undefeated Martinsburg past Jefferson.

Brian Hairston had 13 points, Elisha Freeman had 12 points and five assists, Jalen Lewis had 11 points, six assists and five steals, and Jordan Robinson added 11 points, four assists and five steals for the Bulldogs (10-0).

Josh Dudley had 16 points, including three 3-pointers, Jalen Smith had 14 points and Michael Tennant added 11 points for the Cougars (3-8).

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — After a close first half, Carlisle jumped out to an advantage in the third quarter and went on to beat Chambersburg in a Mid-Penn Commonwealth test.

Carlisle (8-6, 4-5) outscored the Trojans (8-5, 4-5) 18-9 in the third period with solid outside shooting.

Kellen Williams led Chambersburg with 14 points and Mitch Stahl added 11.

Josh Clippenger led Carlisle with 15 points.

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. — Nick Smartt led Southern Fulton with 14 points and added three steals and three assists as the Indians raced to a 21-11 lead after one quarter and a 39-19 lead at halftime.

Brady Golden had 12 points and four rebounds, and Brayden Litton added 10 points, five rebounds, four steals and two blocks for Southern Fulton (5-4).

Dane Cornelius had 13 points for Southern Huntingdon.
