Carl Edward Brunner, 64, of Hagerstown, Md., died on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at his home.

Born Sept. 12, 1948, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Marian Louise Stoneburner Brunner of Hagerstown, and the late Carl Edwin Brunner.

He is survived by his former wife of 24 years, Carol Brunner.

He was a 1966 graduate of South Hagerstown High School, and graduated in 1970 from Towson University. He received his Master's degree from Western Maryland College.

He was employed by the Washington County school system.

He was of the Protestant faith. 

He enjoyed golfing and reading, going to Myrtle Beach, and was a Civil War enthusiast.

He is survived by two sisters, Cheryl Brunner and her partner Eve Morris, of Lopez Island, Wash., and Amy Brunner of Hagerstown; one brother, Chris Brunner and wife, Holly, of Hagerstown; a niece, Rebekah Hart and husband, Stephen, of Waynesboro, Pa.; and a nephew, Christopher Brunner and wife, Kelly, of Hagerstown.

He was preceded in death by one son, Clayton Thomas Brunner.

There will be no service or viewing.
