Dorothy Ann Tritapoe Smith, age 48, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.

Born Jan. 29, 1964, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Emory and Carol Ann Poole Tritapoe.

She was a member of Highland United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs. She was a 1982 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School, and a 1982 graduate from James Rumsey Technical Institute, as a nursing assistant. She worked as an administrative associate for 25 years at Winchester Medical Center. She loved to crochet, and play computer games.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 24 years, Shannon Keith “Tater” Smith, at home; one brother, Kenneth Franklin Tritapoe of Berkeley Springs; two nephews, Tyler Kenneth Tritapoe and Brady Alexander Tritapoe; and two nieces, Troianna Lyn Tritapoe and Alexis Grace Tritapoe, all of Berkeley Springs; and a very large extended family, consisting of many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, William Eric Tritapoe, Jonathan Paul Jason Smith and Christy Ann Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 95 Union St., Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Bob McDonald-Walker officiating. Burial will be private.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the funeral home.
