Bingo planned for Feb. 2

Fountain Rock Elementary School PTA will hold its fourth annual Baiyuka Bingo on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Washington County Agriculture Education Center on Sharpsburg Pike. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the first game starts at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The price of the ticket includes 22 games.

Game prizes include Longaberger, Vera Bradley, Thirty-One and local retail. Special games, tip jars and concessions by the Downsville Ruritan will be available for purchase.

No one under 18 will be admitted. The snow date is Sunday, Feb. 3.

Fly fishing group meets

Antietam Fly Anglers Casting Club meets at River Bottom Park most Saturdays at 9 a.m., weather permitting, to practice fly casting, with a little fellowship mixed in.


Newcomers and folks curious about fly fishing and fly casting are welcome.

The group is part of the Antietam Fly Casters, a member of the Federation of Fly Fishing. The group meets monthly near Smithsburg.

Teens for Jeans recycling program at SMS

Springfield Middle School will participate in the Teens for Jeans program from Jan. 23 to Feb. 21.

The program, sponsored by Aéropostale, collects gently used jeans and donates them to local homeless shelters.

If you have jeans that you no longer wear or need, take them in a bag to the front office of Springfield Middle School, 334 Sunset Ave. in Williamsport, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Make sure the jeans are clean and preferably without many rips or holes.

WHS alumni to hold benefit baseketball games

Williamsport High School will host an alumni men’s basketball doubleheader Saturday, March 9.
Former senior varsity letter winners are invited to play.
