Police Investigate strong-arm robbery

Hagerstown police were investigating a strong-arm robbery Friday night near the intersection of High and George streets.

Officers went to the area at 10:35 p.m., where the victim said she was attacked by a man who choked her and stole her purse, according to a Hagerstown Police Department news release. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not seek medical care, police said.

The man last was seen running west on George Street, police said.

Police described the man as black, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He was wearing a light colored jacket and dark jeans, police said.

Stolen vehicle recovered

SPRING RUN, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police were investigating the theft of a vehicle Thursday that later was recovered.

The vehicle was taken from a residence in the 18000 block of Amberson Road sometime Thursday, according to a state police news release. It later was found abandoned near the owner’s home, police said.

No description of the vehicle was given by police.
