Women who like to sing invited to join area chorus

January 09, 2013

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Women who enjoy singing are invited to visit Freedom Valley Chorus on Mondays in January from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Ave. in Chambersburg.

The chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, an organization of nearly 25,000 women worldwide who sing four-part a cappella harmony, barbershop style.

Chorus members share a love for music and singing barbershop harmony.

As a member, participants can experience the exhilaration of performing and singing with the Freedom Valley Chorus. Any woman of average singing ability, with or without vocal training, will find a part that fits her voice range with the help of the chorus’ musical leaders and director.

The chorus performs regularly in the community, offering its talent for entertainment at civic events and charitable functions. The chorus delivers singing Valentines, sings at Hagerstown Suns baseball games, retirement homes, and provides programs for birthday and anniversary parties and other events.
