1. An exhibit in black and white

The exhibit "Shades of Black and White," featuring the embroidery of Barbara Randall and photography of Adam Wilson, pictured, will be on display Friday, Jan. 11, at Council for the Arts, 159 S. 2. Wine and music

Jon Ingels will perform an eclectic program at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Knob Hall Winery, 14108 St. Paul Road, Clear Spring.  Part of Wine Down Fridays. Light snacks will be sold, or bring your own food. 7 p.m. $5, for ages 21 and older. $1 for the first glass of wine or soda. Call 301-842-2777.



3. New you this year

New Year, New You! will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at InnerBeyouty: The Mystical Magical Metaphysical Shoppe, 57 S. Potomac St., downtown Hagerstown. 4. 'Pink is my signature color'

"Steel Magnolias" will open Friday, Jan. 11, at  Way Off Broadway, 5 Willowdale Drive, Frederick, Md. A story of friendship and trust. Shows are Fridays and Saturdays with matinees on the first, third and fifth Sundays of each month. Continues through Saturday, March 9. Tickets cost $43 to $47. 5. Spaghetti for a cause

Spaghetti dinner will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, 7041 Cumberland Highway, Chambersburg, Pa. All-you-can-eat spaghetti, with salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Cost by donation. Proceeds benefit the church's youth mission trip to the Czech Republic. Call 717-267-3373.
