Agnes Elizabeth Hesson, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Homewood of Williamsport.

Born Aug. 16, 1926, in Somerset, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Hilda (Mechalani) Leonardi.

Mrs. Hesson was a homemaker and previously worked in the personnel department at Fairchild Corp.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she taught catechism and was a den mother. She also was a volunteer librarian at Lincolnshire Elementary School and was an avid gardener.

She is survived by her loving husband, Harry R. Hesson; two children, Brian M. Hesson and wife, Brenda, of Big Clifty, Ky., and Kathy H. Fronda and husband, Greg, of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; three granddaughters; two stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Christopher P. Moore officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
