Mrs. Naomi (Yaukey) Sprenkle, 90, of 138 Snider Ave. and formerly of North Church Street and Fairview Avenue, all of Waynesboro, Pa., passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born May 9, 1922, in Marion, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Effie K. (Ritter) Yaukey.

Mrs. Sprenkle attended Chambersburg-area schools.

She and her husband, Mr. Richard H. Sprenkle, were married May 9, 1947, at Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro. Mr. Sprenkle passed away March 15, 1999.

During World War II, Mrs. Sprenkle was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. Prior to her retirement in 1994, she worked at Savoy Catering Service, Waynesboro, for 33 years.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, since 1947, where she was a member of the Wilson Class, United Methodist Women, senior choir member since 1964 and volunteered as a cook at the Lunch Place for many years.

She also was a member of Mount Vernon Chapter Order of Eastern Star 398 and Community Concert Association, both of Waynesboro, and National AARP.

Mrs. Sprenkle was active in several area bowling leagues throughout the years, including Letterkenny League, Chambersburg, and Tea Time League and Senior League at Sunshine Lanes, both of Waynesboro.

She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Barbara Seabrook of Princess Anne, Md., and Vicki E. Wile of Bendersville, Pa.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; three stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie M. Turner; a son, Gregory R. Sprenkle; one grandson, David Hinkle; and two brothers, Lloyd Yaukey and Lester Yaukey.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with the Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
