WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A Waynesboro man suspected in a carjacking at the intersection of West Third and South Potomac streets was apprehended early Sunday in Virginia.

Waynesboro police said they were working to file criminal charges related to the incident.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, Shenandoah County (Va.) Sheriff’s Department’s deputies started to chase the stolen vehicle, which subsequently crashed.

“The operator of the vehicle fled on foot and was apprehended by sheriff’s deputies,” Waynesboro police wrote in the news release.
