Ricky Bruce Koogle, 54, of Middletown, Md., passed away Jan. 2, 2013, after a lengthy battle with many illnesses. He was a great patient with a wonderful positive attitude.

He was the husband of Kathleen Koogle for 35 years, and father to Richard Koogle of Hagerstown, Md.

He was born Sept. 1, 1958, and is survived by his parents, Bruce and Catherine Koogle. He is survived by two beautiful granddaughters, Valerie and Emma Koogle of Thurmont, Md. Also surviving are his uncles, David Koogle and wife, Joyce, and Larry Koogle and wife, Karen, of Middletown; and his aunt, JoAnn Koogle Myers and husband, Gerald, of New Market, Md. He was very close to his numerous cousins.

Rick worked for 37 years at N.E. “Bob” Waltz Plumbing & Heating. He was an avid sports fan, card player, golfer and bowler. He was a member and past president of the Big Oak Lodge, and a youth baseball and basketball coach for the Middletown Valley Athletic Association.


A memorial service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 at AMVETS Post 9, 408 W. Green St., Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312; or to National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
