“We played well for most of the game,” North Hagerstown coach Cyndi Miller said. “We had a lot of people step up. We just put our press in yesterday and we did a good job of executing it tonight. Defensively, we played smart and we applied a lot of pressure.”

Junior guard Crystal McLeod scored 12 of her game-high of 23 points in the third quarter to lead North (2-4, 2-2).

“Crystal McLeod is very quick,” Miller said. “She gets down the floor and she gets some good open shots.”

Senior Victoria Key scored 18 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Williamsport (3-4, 2-2). Hannah Kastelein hauled in 16 rebounds and Carley Robinson grabbed 10 rebounds for the Wildcats.

With the score was tied at 28-28 with five minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Hubs scored the last 11 points of the period — including eight by McLeod — to take the 39-28 lead.
