December 29, 2012

Washington County Emergency Services and law enforcement officials said no major traffic problems were reported Saturday as a result of a storm that dropped a little more than 2 inches of snow.

The Hagerstown Police Department and Maryland State Police said the city’s and county’s roadways remained relatively calm Saturday.

“It was a very peaceful day,” a Washington County Emergency Services supervisor said.

Hagerstown received 2.2 inches of snow, according to i4weather.net, a website maintained by local weather observer Greg Keefer. Saturday’s snowfall bumped the total accumulation for December to 7.5 inches.

Snow started to fall Saturday morning, and continued into the early afternoon.

Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 36, according to the National Weather Service’s website. Winds are expected to range from 6 to 21 mph.

The National Weather Service is calling for partly cloudy skies tonight with a low around 20.
